The Spirit of Fauxshion

Each year in mid December, an event takes place here in Chicago that involves thousands of spirited revelers dressing like Christmas exploded inside their closets and imbibing all over the North side. The masses take to the streets in santa hats and snowman PJs to prove they are the cheeriest of all. This year, I decided to creep on the most stylish and well budgeted elves.

This guy was hilarious. I realize that he's wearing a sombrero and puffy paint (it says "Merry-achi," if you're wondering how he fits the holiday theme) but who cares? He was clever AND he made the whole outfit himself. Very fauxshionable, indeed. Check out those kicks and sunglasses!

Holy moly these dresses were cool. They were purchased from Hollywood Mirror for something like $20. I love the festive red and white sequined dress, and the black and gold looks like it belongs under a Christmas tree!

I personally chose to bring out the $3 thrifted vintage prom dress I've been looking for an excuse to wear. It's a gem. My $10 yard sale faux-fur came in handy for beating the cold as well.

Bonus - more pics of the prom dress...Cha Cha DiGregorio punk style.
