It’s a perfect summer day in Chicago and you’re strolling the downtown streets. People are everywhere, showing off for one another. You know their game, and you’re ready to play. On your arm? The perfect Chanel 2.55. As you watch heads turn with envy, you have a laugh. You got your bag from eDrop-Off for a mere fraction of the retail price.
eDrop-Off is an amazing approach to eBay buying and selling. Corri McFadden built the company straight from her fashion design school business plan. She envisioned an eBay store in which she would sell her clients’ gently used possessions and put cash back in their pockets. In turn, she would give buyers a safe, one stop shop for discounted goods. Her ultimate dream, though, was to be the niche for the resale of high-end designer goods.

Six years and 80,000 items later, Corri has established eDrop-Off as the premier designer fashion eBay consignment shop. Not only does eDrop provide nation-wide pick-up services for sellers, they photograph and measure each item to provide potential buyers the most information possible. Shopping an eBay store that provides so much detail assures that you know what you’re spending your hard earned cash on.

Even in the worst of economies, eDrop-Off has persevered. The company grew 100% between 2008-2009. “Everyone wants to downsize and everyone wants luxury at a discount. It a great circle for all,” says Corri.
eDrop-Off also supports a sustainable approach to fashion. Purchasing consignment and resale goods helps reduce your carbon footprint – as eBay puts it, the greenest product is the one that already exists. In light of her green efforts and support of eBay, Corri was asked to represent Chicago at Dwell on Design, the west coast’s largest design event. She’s teaming up with eBay and ecofabulous on the event’s sustainable house made entirely of reclaimed materials.

The home is packed with high end previously-owned items from eBay and Energy Star appliances from Elecrolux. Corri’s job is to stock the home’s closet with the best of her collection and style Zem Joaquin, founder of ecofabulous. The best part is that Corri’s featured items will be available for all to bid on at ebay.com/edropoff – so even if you couldn’t make it to LA, you can still take home the best of the best from the show.

So what’s inside the closet? “Anyone who peeks into that closet will be so surprised,” Corri told me. “Many disregard eBay as a resource for designer goods, but I’m showing them Louboutin, Balenciaga, Lanvin - all luxurious, all ecofriendly.”
