For Halloween this year, I transformed into one of my favorite mythical creatures of all time - Medusa. The costume itself was resurrected from a different version that I wore for Halloween 2000. Yes, 10 years ago.
My mom made this entire costume. The dress, the headpiece, all of it! She shortened the original dress, which was to the floor, and added the multicolor crinoline. I wore boots I already had and bought some green tights ($5), green hair spray ($3), and fangs ($10), plus the fabric for the crinoline ($4) brought the total cost of this year's costume to $22!
Affordable and green (pun intended). Hooray for repurposing!
