Vert Couture

My friend Amanda Joy Ball (who has been featured here a time or two) and I attended the Vert Couture Eco Friendly Fashion Show right here in Chicago last week. It seemed only fitting to choose to attend this show during Fashion Focus Chicago because of my tendency for all things thrift.

Each of the designers offered innovative and extremely out-of-the-box approaches to ecologically chic dressing. Techniques ranged from sustainably sourced fabrics and deconstructed vintage clothing to all natural dying processes on recycled silks.

My personal favorites included the eccentrically lady-like Lauren Lein, the hand-painted and structural designs at Heart, and Silk Utopia's answer to the maxi dress.

Gorgeous outfit - love the vintage look and great pics from the show! I went to the Macy's show but didn't have the chance to join in on the rest. Hey are you going to the blogger event in Chicago on Wednesday?
