I've always been a fan of Whitney Port and her unique style. This past Saturday, she hosted an event called Design Your Life, right here in Chicago. Of course I had to go!
The event began with a selection of Chicago vendors and shopping opportunities. My favorite was Deliciously Vintage. Tabitha, of Defining Tabitha, insisted I go take a look. It was advice for which I am eternally grateful.
DV had one of the most well edited vintage collections I've ever seen. Could have done some major damage there. I ended up with a pair of ah-mazing vintage Givenchy pants which I will definitely be posting. Creators Law and Siobhan (pictured below) were so friendly and fun!
After we got our retail fix, Whitney addressed the crowd first about her life and career, and then opened the floor to us for questions. She was well spoken and sweet, commenting on everything from how to land a job with Kelly Cutrone to how keeping her morals in the fashion world comes from within (my question!).
I was secretly pretty stoked she had noticed I was wearing her line during the Q&A - but then it got crazy awesome. During the True Whit book signing, she asked to take my picture to document my Whitney Eve look. (!) It was very refreshing that she was so genuinely appreciative of a fan wearing her designs.
Needless to say, it was a great time! Thanks to Dime Promotions for organizing such a fabulous event.

Fun! I have always admired Whitney's style and it must have been exciting to meet her!
I'm so glad we got to hang for a bit and I can't wait to see how you style your new pants. Maybe we should make plans to go visit Law in his store again sometime soon. Adding that onto our plans for brunch. :)
Awesome recap! I saw this event but didn't want to pay to go, love that you wore her line. I've never been a big fan of hers more of a Lauren Conrad fan but she sounds super nice and sweet :) Hopefully I can meet you soon!
